Celebrated lyricist Prashant Ingole has joined forces with global music icon Descemer Bueno for the first-ever Indo-Spanish song "Hone Do Bailando," which reached music lovers on September 4.

Sharing his experience of collaborating with Descemer Bueno, Prashant said working with him turned out to be "smooth as silk." "Working with Descemer is smooth as silk. A man who knows his art and his turf, keeps it to the point. I just shared my vision with him, and what I got in return was super amazing, complementing lyrics in Spanish," Prashant Ingole said.

Conceptualised and crafted by Prashant Ingole, "Hone Do Bailando" brings together a perfect mix of Hindi and Spanish. The Spanish lyrics for the track have been penned and performed by Descemer Bueno, while Prashant Ingole has provided the Hindi words. Descemer Bueno has also crooned the track, giving it an authentic Spanish flavour, with Flori accompanying him in the vocals in a powerful voice. Creating a shared musical experience, "Hone Do Bailando" transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.

As a lyricist, Prashant Ingole is credited with several peppy and energetic numbers such as "Party On My Mind" from Race 2, "Ziddi Dil" from Mary Kom, "Malhari" from Bajirao Mastani, "Pal" from Jalebi, and "Utth Ja Ziddi Re" from 83, among others.

The Guinness World Record behind his 'Gajanana' work: Ingole's other Bajirao Mastani track, "Gajanana," was tied to a genuine world record: when the song launched in 2015, the makers gathered over 5,000 students at the Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune's Balewadi Stadium, who formed a massive human mosaic of Lord Ganesha as part of the launch event, with lead actor Ranveer Singh joining in. The formation entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest launch event of its kind for a song — a scale-driven promotional stunt that matched the grandeur of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama itself.

Coming to Descemer Bueno, the acclaimed Cuban singer, songwriter and musician is best known globally for co-writing and performing on Enrique Iglesias's hit number "Bailando," released in 2014. During a career spanning jazz, hip-hop, fusion and Latin pop, he has also been part of other chart-topping songs such as "Bailamos."

Just how big 'Bailando' actually was: The song, co-written by Descemer Bueno with Enrique Iglesias and featuring Cuban reggaeton duo Gente de Zona, spent 41 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart — breaking the previous record of 25 weeks held by Shakira and Alejandro Sanz's "La Tortura," on a chart that had existed for 28 years at the time. "Bailando" went on to sweep three Latin Grammy Awards — Song of the Year, Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Song — and its music video amassed more than 600 million YouTube views, making it the second most-watched video of 2014 globally, behind only Katy Perry's "Dark Horse." Beyond "Bailando," Descemer Bueno has also co-written politically significant work, including "Patria y Vida" (2021), a song that became an anthem associated with pro-freedom protests in Cuba.
