NEW YORK — Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted high-level bilateral meetings in New York with executive leadership from JPMorgan, Tillman Global Holdings, Uber, and Golub Capital, capped by an operational visit to IBM Research in Yorktown Heights.

The delegation, led by Patel across the United States and Canada, is laying the ground for foreign direct investment ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit scheduled for January 2027. Discussions centered on expanding capital markets, digital infrastructure, urban mobility, and advanced computing research within the state's flagship economic zones.

During talks with financial institution representatives, Chief Minister Patel focused on institutional scaling at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). JPMorgan reaffirmed its intention to broaden operational capacity in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). Concurrently, Jerry Keefe, Co-President of Golub Capital, indicated plans to integrate the firm's network of global banking, insurance, and exchange partners into the GIFT City framework.

In digital infrastructure, Sanjeev Ahuja, Founder and Chairman of Tillman Global Holdings, praised the state’s targeted Data Centre Policy. Their consultation identified the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) as a strategic corridor for next-generation data storage and computational facilities.

Urban transit discussions with Uber focused on expanding ride-share networks into Gujarat’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 urban centers, along with managing transit infrastructure during upcoming international sporting events hosted by the state.

At IBM Research's Yorktown Heights facility, delegation officials reviewed developments in quantum computing, semiconductor architecture, and applied artificial intelligence. The talks explored institutional frameworks for technology transfer, R&D integration, and skill-building initiatives designed to strengthen Gujarat's technology capabilities.

This New York engagement builds on the administration's broader tour across Washington, San Francisco, and Toronto, reinforcing Gujarat's focus on capital attraction and high-tech manufacturing ecosystems ahead of 2027.
