India is set to become a global hub for car manufacturing as international automakers expand production in the country, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday at the ‘Dilli Dialogue: Policies for a Future-Ready India’ event.
He said rising domestic demand, a growing manufacturing ecosystem and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision would make India a key production base for the global auto industry. Several global manufacturers, he said, would increasingly choose India once demand reaches the necessary scale.
Opening Up, Not Shutting Out
Goyal described a twin-track strategy: integrating with the world’s best technologies while focusing on sectors that create jobs and business opportunities.
