India has hosted large renewable energy events before. What is new this time is how they have been put together. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam on Monday, he will open a single venue that brings together investors, solar diplomacy and green hydrogen.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the four-day summit from November 2 to 5 will draw participants from more than 130 countries, including over 40 Ministers. Its theme, ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’, makes the purpose plain: turning clean energy goals into investment and projects.
From RE-INVEST to Bharat RE
Bharat RE 2026 builds on RE-INVEST, which has been India’s flagship renewable energy investment summit. The new name and format give it a broader scope. Instead of one standalone event, the summit is being held alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).
