C-DOT, IISc Launch Telecom Centre of Excellence
C-DOT partners with IISc Bengaluru to set up Centre of Excellence for 6G, quantum, AI and cybersecurity research in telecom.
New Delhi, July 30 — The Centre for Development of Telematics has signed an agreement with the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, to establish a Centre of Excellence aimed at accelerating indigenous research, innovation, capacity building and commercialisation of advanced communication technologies.
Under the agreement, C-DOT has set up the Centre of Excellence at FSID on the IISc campus. The facility will concentrate on wireless communications, quantum technologies, cybersecurity and artificial-intelligence-driven communication systems. Research priorities include 5G Advanced and 6G technologies, very large-scale MIMO systems, integrated sensing and communication, AI-native networks and devices, and quantum as well as post-quantum communication technologies.
An official statement described the partnership as “another significant milestone in strengthening India’s indigenous telecom innovation ecosystem through collaborative research and technology development.” The Centre is designed to function as a collaborative platform that links academia and industry, generating high-impact research, intellectual property and skilled talent in domains considered critical to India’s digital future.
