Bia Rodrigues-Perry Builds BIA'S Kitchen Show Into a UK Media Platform
Bia Rodrigues-Perry has grown BIA'S Kitchen Show from a lockdown takeaway into a UK media platform covering food, menopause, wellbeing and entrepreneurship.
What started as a lockdown takeaway has turned into a media operation for Bia Rodrigues-Perry. The Brazilian-born presenter, producer and marketing strategist, based in Warwickshire, now runs BIA'S Kitchen Show — a platform that uses food as the way in to conversations about culture, entrepreneurship and wellbeing.
Her first career was in Brazil, where she spent years in marketing working with well-known international brands. The strength she traded on was straightforward: she understood how people talk to each other, and she could get companies to do the same. That counted for little when she moved to the UK after meeting her husband. She had no network, no name, and a culture she needed to learn from the ground up. "I had to adapt to a new culture, build a new network and prove myself all over again," she says of that stretch.
BIA'S Kitchen, the premium takeaway she launched during the pandemic, was never conceived as the start of anything bigger. It kept her working and gave people something comforting at a difficult time. Once restrictions eased, she reassessed. Cooking was one piece of it. Producing, presenting, marketing and storytelling were the rest, and none of it was being used.
