Govt Clears 31 ECMS Projects Worth Rs 7,877 Crore
MeitY approves 31 electronics component projects worth Rs 7,877 crore; total ECMS approvals now stand at 106 projects valued at Rs 69,548 crore.
New Delhi, August 17 — The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has cleared nearly 31 applications involving investments of Rs 7,877 crore under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), as the government steps up efforts to strengthen India’s domestic electronics component manufacturing ecosystem.
MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said the latest approvals cover a broad range of components and products, including capital goods, camera and display modules, anode materials, enclosures, connectors, transducers, rare-earth permanent magnets, acetylene black, optical transceivers, speakers and microphones, relays, hermetic terminals, electrolyte additives and antennas.
The approved projects will also manufacture metallised films for capacitors, coils, filters, capacitors and metal shielding covers. The latest round includes an enhanced investment in copper-clad laminates that had received approval earlier.
