President Murmu Invites Moldova to Invest in India

Describing her visit as the first-ever state visit by an Indian President to Moldova, she said it reflects India's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across political, economic, cultural and people-to-people spheres.

“My visit to Moldova is the first state visit by an Indian President which reflects India's commitment to deepening engagement with Moldova in all spheres including political, economic, cultural and people-to-people ties. I am accompanied by a large business delegation from India,” President Murmu said.

“Their presence demonstrates the growing confidence of Indian industry in Moldova's economic potential and its commitment to building long-term partnerships,” the President stated.

President Murmu said India and Moldova have enjoyed warm and friendly relations since establishing diplomatic ties in 1992, with the partnership founded on mutual respect, democratic values and a shared commitment to peace, development and international cooperation.

“India today is among the fastest-growing major economies, driven by entrepreneurship, digital transformation, manufacturing excellence and a young skilled workforce,” President Murmu mentioned.

“At the same time, Moldova has a richly oriented outlook, strategic location, talented human capital and growing integration with European markets, which makes it an important destination for Indian businesses,” the President added.

The President identified several sectors with significant potential for bilateral collaboration, including digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, digital public infrastructure, infrastructure development, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare.
