On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra separately reported strong year-on-year gains across passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles — with the commercial vehicle segment emerging as a particularly striking growth driver for the month.

The August numbers point to a healthy underlying demand cycle, backed by rising infrastructure spending, strong replacement cycles and continued consumer appetite for both passenger and commercial vehicles.
