Nayara Petrol Up ₹5, Diesel ₹3; PSU Pump Prices Unchanged
Nayara Energy raised petrol by ₹5 and diesel by ₹3 a litre from October 3, while PSU pumps held prices. ATF rose 13% and commercial LPG ₹62.50. What it means for you.

Key Highlights
- Nayara hike: Petrol up ₹5 and diesel up ₹3 a litre at Nayara's 7,000+ pumps from Saturday.
- PSUs unchanged: State-run retailers, which run over 90% of India's 104,000+ pumps, have largely kept prices stable.
- Second hike this year: Nayara raised prices in March, rolled them back in July, and has now raised them again.
- ATF up 13%: Jet fuel rose from ₹121 to ₹137 per litre, its third straight monthly increase.
- LPG: Commercial cylinders rose ₹62.50; household LPG stays at ₹942.
Private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has raised petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre across its network of more than 7,000 fuel stations, effective Saturday, according to industry sources. The company is trying to close the gap between retail prices and higher procurement costs as global crude and fuel prices stay elevated.
This is Nayara's second hike this year. It raised prices by similar amounts in March after supply disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia, then rolled them back in July when crude eased.
Why It Matters: Same Fuel, Different Prices
The hike creates a visible price gap for motorists. State-owned oil marketing companies, which operate more than 90% of India's over 104,000 petrol pumps, have largely kept retail prices steady despite swings in global crude.
